Hiram Melvin Jones, 72, passed away March 27, 2012. Hiram was born March 8, 1940, in Hailey, Idaho.
Hiram graduated from Hailey High School in 1959. He worked in sawmills and the timber most of his life. He started out after school, and went to work in the Beaver Creek sawmill in the Stanley Basin.
From there he went to California. He eventually went to Hayfork, Calif., and became a millwright at the sawmill there. Then he moved to Lincoln, Calif., and was the millwright there for many years.
Hiram is survived by his wife, Linda, who was the best thing that ever happened to him. Also his daughter, Cherokee [Luke]; his granddaughter, Terrin [David]; great-grandson, Kayden; two stepchildren, Dusty and Jimmy; and especially Dylan, Dusty's son, whom Hiram loved and adored to no end.
Hiram is also survived by three brothers, Bill Jones, of Everett, Wash.; Jay Jones of Twin Falls, Idaho; and Lee Jones of Hailey, Idaho; and his mother who is 95, Fern Jones, who still resides in Hailey.
