Grand day for the Human Slalom

Hawaiian Nationals strike again


Sun Valley Tele's Hawaiian Nationals Saturday, March 31 on Baldy wrapped up the "2012: The Telepocalypse," in style.

A total of 30 racers and one tandem telemark team competed. Organizer Kyle Livingston said, "We lucked out with great spring conditions after all of the rain this past week.

"Best Costume went to Evan Lawler (dressed as a giant Toucan) and Best Crash went to Danny Maloney. We also had the Human Slalom down Warm Springs."

Here are the final combined two-run results, along with thanks from Livingston, Julian Tyo, Brendan Coyle and Nick Smith of Sun Valley Tele:

Men's Telemark Elite: 1—Tyler Chandler 46.13 seconds. 2—Danny Walton 46.73. 3—Todd Falk 47.88. 4—Nat Campbell 50.34. 5—Danny Maloney 50.61. 6—Kyle Livingston 51.96. 7—Conor Davis 70.34. 8—Todd Mandeville.

Women's Telemark Elite: 1—Nicole Campbell 53.90. 2—Colleen Mauro 56.33.
