All the way with Scott USA

Town Series champions on Cozy

Zero was a good thing for the Scott USA team in the 21st annual Sun Valley Town Series of dual modified giant slalom races that wrapped up Wednesday on Baldy's Cozy ski run.

Scott USA featuring John Zuck, John Reagle, Toby Arnett and Jeff Page went wire to wire with six straight 0.00-point efforts to secure the team championship of the 35-team series.

In second place for the season with four 0.00 efforts in the six scoring weeks was Sutterly Fabulous (3.13) with John Summers, Mikie Geron, Mark Masur and Georgie Suttor.

The other top-five teams were Grateful Shred (4.05), PK's Occupy Baldy (6.04) and the Sofa Kings (6.97), last year's Town Series runner-up.

Grateful Shredders in third place overall were Randi DuBois, Jerry Mitchell, Tommy Richardson and Mike Lafferty.

Members of PK's were Charlotte Gourlay, Tyler Chandler, Alex Jackson and Christy Luby. On Sofa Kings were Ted Tuma, Bob Buchanan, Lenny Joseph and Barrett Molter.

The names of 20 racers from the top five teams in the series were entered into a drawing for the grand prize of four Sun Valley 2012-13 season ski passes. The drawing took place at the Town Series party Wednesday at Whiskey Jacques', Ketchum.

Ski pass winners were Bob Buchanan of Sofa Kings, Jeff Page of Scott USA, Charlotte Gourlay of PK's and Mikie Geron of Sutterly Fabulous.

On Wednesday, the fastest of 95 racers in the combined two-run format was Robin Sarchett of Park Rats at 34.88 seconds followed by his teammate Miles Fink-Debray at 35.37.

Middle-of-the-road "rabbit" at 46.49 seconds was Barrett Molter of the Sofa Kings.

Rounding out Wednesday's top 10: 3—Matt Murphy (Tekasoreasses) 37.36. 4—Hunter Storey (Team Menopause plus 1) 37.46. 5—John Campbell (Team Menopause plus 1) 37.61. 6—Tyler Chandler (PK's: Occupy Baldy) 38.77. 7—Cam Fraser (Wood River Masonry) 39.03. 8—Jan Hegewald (Cougerstone Commandos) 39.28. 9—Sean Murphy (Tekasoreasses) 39.32. 10—Charlotte Gourlay (PK's: Occupy Baldy) 39.33.

Racers from 11th to 20th places were Alan Rickers, Mike Gowe, John Summers, Jen King, D.J. Hart, Dan Kurdy, Toby Arnett, Maggie Acker, Cameron Bouiss and Lily Fink-Debray. Holding down the fort at the bottom of the second page were Amy Whittier, Franny Hjort, Joyce Fogg, Jon Linn and Sarah Pinkernell.
