Save the pearls for a wedding, break out the diamonds for what Sun Valley Opera President Frank Meyer calls "Sun Valley's most glamorous summer party."

The Divas and Diamonds cocktail party is a benefit scheduled for the night before international soprano star Alyson Cambridge takes the stage at the Sun Valley Pavilion on June 30 for a pop, classical and patriotic concert for all ages and musical tastes.

"We have two concerts a year and two pre-concert events," Meyer said. "It's these, ticket sales and a lot of volunteers that make the other concerts possible."

Sun Valley Opera, he explained, is a very small organization with a passion, no corporate sponsors and a desire to bring more understanding to the diversity and culture of opera.

In addition to the concerts, the Opera sponsors the "Met Live in HD Series" at the Big Wood 4 Cinemas in Hailey.

Meyer said the parties, like the upcoming fete at a private Ketchum home, is a chance to dress up and mingle.
