Snow arrives just in time for the Parrish

Super G and “Old School” moguls

Recent Baldy snowfall has set the stage for the 20th annual Lane Parrish Memorial ski races set for Friday, March 23 and Sunday, March 25 on the Warm Springs side of Baldy.

This year's "Monster" Lane Parrish Memorial, named so because of the Monster energy drink sponsorship, features "Old School" moguls racing on Friday and super giant slalom racing Sunday on Greyhawk.

Moguls training is Friday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday's race starts at high noon. Sunday's SG begins at 10:30 a.m. Any money raised goes to the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation. Each Parrish paid entry receives a t-shirt.

Entry deadline is Thursday, March 22 at the SVSEF office in the Greyhawk building at Warm Springs. There is no day-of-race registration. Cost is $45 for both events, $25 for one.

Alpine skiers, telemarkers and snowboarders are welcome. Sunday's awards will be held at Apple's Bar & Grill.

A classic Sun Valley persona of the 1970s, Parrish was a speed and bump skier and movie stuntman who died at age 33 in a plane crash near Twin Falls in 1990.
