March Madness begins for Wood River golf

The Wood River boy's golf team traveled to Twin Falls to compete in the "March Madness" tournament at Blue Lakes Country Club on Monday, March 12.

The weather was decent with light wind. Considering that other teams in the tournament had been practicing outside for the last couple of weeks at golf courses, Wood River showed some talent.

"I think this was a very solid showing for our boys as they placed 7th out of 10 teams," said Bill Petzke, Wood River head coach. "We have a fairly young and inexperienced team this year, but there are a lot of players with potential, which has led to intense competition amongst players for Varsity spots."

Wood River Scores

Sage Sauerbrey, 81; Tyler Spence, 89; Reilly Neel, 100; Lane Coulthard, 107; Cody Richmond, 112.
