The Gund Cup Senior A Hockey League trophy will have a new home on top of Lefty's Bar & Grill's shelf this year as Lefty's defeated Morgan's Fine Finshes 4-2 on Tuesday evening at the Sun Valley Skating Center.

Fronting seven Sun Valley Suns players on its team, Lefty's had an advantage and out-shot Morgan's 25-15.

Bobby Sloper had the go-ahead goal that put Lefty's on top for good. Other goal scorers for Lefty's were Chris Cook, Ryan Enrico and Brian Winkler.

Goalie Matt Gershater showed poise in the net.

This is the first time in eight years that neither Yoga College of India nor Grumpy's was in the title game.

The game was clean and hard-fought with minimal penalties, the way a friendly hockey game should be played.

Ted Kelley and Vilnas Nikolaisons both scored for Morgan's. Nikolaisons also had an assist.

John Kearny Jr., Kainoa Lopez and Bubba Street all had assists for Lefty's.

Dave Patrie provided both of Morgan's assists for the game.
