Leif’s Combined brings 71 to Baldy, SV Nordic

Seventy-one skiers turned out for Saturday's revival of the Sun Valley Ski Club's Leif's Combined Race on Baldy and at Sun Valley Nordic Center.

The Valentine's Week event is held in memory of Sun Valley cross-country ski legend Leif Odmark.

In the women's team contest, the Vamps cross-country gals nipped the Divas alpine women by the slimmest of margins.

The combined started with a giant slalom run down Cozy ski run, then skiers went once or twice around a 2.5-kilometer ski loop at Sun Valley Nordic.

First-place winners were Scott Robinson and Karoline Droege. In second were John Campbell and Alexa Turzian. Third-place winners were Jake Peters and Brett Stevenson.

The three fastest giant slalom times: John Campbell 39.05 seconds, Bill Campbell 40.13 and Scott Robinson 40.82. The top three Nordic times: Kevin Bolger 15:13, Jake Adicoff 15:59 and Alexa Turzian 16:18.

Here are results of the 71 participants by class (26 men, 45 women) including the five telemarkers and one snowboarder in the field. Results follow with GS/Nordic times:
