Those who knew Carl would all agree that he was a rugged outdoorsman who had a certain softness about him—a calm, cool kindness that cannot be found in many men. He truly enjoyed, appreciated and respected the natural beauty that surrounded him, which could be seen in his many talents as a skier, swimmer, biker, windsurfer and sailor. He loved the time he spent on many weekend camping trips with his daughter, family and friends. He was a wonderful father, friend, son and brother.
