Presidents Day holiday to bring valley closures

Schools, buses, local and federal offices affected

Presidents Day is Monday, Feb. 20. With it comes closures at government offices and schools, schedule changes to Mountain Rides' usual Monday service and closures at some businesses.

All schools in the Blaine County School District will be closed, as will the Community School in Sun Valley.

City halls in Ketchum, Hailey, Bellevue and Sun Valley will be closed. The regular meeting of the Ketchum City Council will be held Tuesday instead of Monday.

Blaine County offices will be closed Monday and there will be no county commissioners' meeting. The commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m.

The Legislature will not convene Monday, and all post offices will be closed.

Several banks also will be closed, including: D. L. Evans, Idaho Independent Bank, Bank of the West, US Bank and Zions Bank. Mountain West Bank and Wells Fargo will remain open for the holiday.

The Community Library in Ketchum will be closed, as will the public libraries in Hailey and Bellevue.

Mountain Rides' Valley Route will follow a Saturday schedule, with the addition of a 7:05 a.m. northbound departure from Main and Oak streets in Bellevue (Guffy's) and an additional southbound departure, leaving at 4:35 p.m. from Dollar Circle in Sun Valley, arriving at Wells Fargo in Ketchum at 4:45 p.m. and continuing to the south valley. There will be no Hailey circulator route that day.
