Snowboard races come to Dollar slopes

Andy Gilbert, head shred of the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation's Snowboard Team, has invited spectators to Dollar Mountain this weekend to see some of the best riders in the region.

The United States of America Snowboard Association (USASA) Intermountain Snowboard Series is coming to Dollar for three days of racing.

Two boardercross races will be staged today, Friday, Feb. 3 followed by slopestyle on Saturday, Feb. 4 and halfpipe on Sunday, Feb. 5. Start times are approximately 10 a.m. daily. Local sponsors include The Board Bin and Sun Valley Co.

Gilbert said, "Following on the heels of Sun Valley's very successful freestyle event weekend, the snowboard team will be hosting three days of events at Dollar.

"I'd like to invite all of you to come out and experience the events and see how hard all the athletes have been working as well as how well the SVSEF snowboarding staff hosts an event. This is our only home event of the season and we would love to see you all there."
