Dollar skinned and skied, for a good cause

33 take the Randonee test


Thirty-three participants had a blast Saturday during the first "Skin It 2 Win It" Team Randonee Race on Dollar Mountain in Sun Valley.

The event raised funds for the Sawtooth National Forest Avalanche Center.

Members of one-person (solo), two- and four-person teams skinned up Dollar and skied back to the start completing as many laps as possible in the five-hour time period.

Winning male/female prizes for most solo laps: Jonathan Preuss (17 laps, 4.33:59) and Alex Roman (11 laps, 3.25:27).

Best Costume prizes went to Local Yodels four-person team Pam Street (1 lap), Misty McConnell (3), Tony Jefferson (5) and Sage Pressman (5).

Most Laps, four-person team winners: 4 Casters with Chris Lundy, Blasé Reardon, Janet Kellam and Simon Trautman (21 laps, 4.46:31). Two-person team winners: Vampy Hoes with Muffy Ritz/India Wysong (19 laps, 4.44:37).

Solo Men: Jake Peters (14 laps, 4.31:31), Miles Fink-Debray (7 laps, 2.03:11), Tim Cron (14 laps, 4.44:11), John Fox (15 laps, 4.27:17), Bat Cat (12 laps, 4.37:54), Steve Butler (17 laps, 4.37:42, 2nd place) and Roger Mankus (17 laps, 4.45:22, 3rd place).

Four-person teams: Team Leugers with Adrienne Leugers, Brett Hanson, Scott Robinson and Susan Robinson (19 laps, 4.41:45, 2nd place); and The 5840s with Laura Furtado, Tina Cole, Suzy Hayes and Renee Kuross (14 to 17 laps, 15th a team lap).

Two-person teams: Fisher/Gould with Abbi Gould and Frank Gould (18 laps, 4.38:13, 2nd place); Witness the Fitness with Becky Reitinger and Brad Guss (16 laps, 4.43:54); and Catherins with Renee Catherin and Gusty Catherin (8/9 laps, 4.13:35).
