Yoga slips into first in Senior A hockey

2-1 win over Grumpy’s


     YogaCollege of India moved into first place in the Senior A Hockey League standings Tuesday night with a 2-1 victory over Sun Valley Auto Club/Grumpy’s at Sun ValleySkatingCenter.

     With goalie Billy Cook in the net, Yoga got goals by Bryan O’Connell and Mark Belanger to hold off the Auto Club, its goalie David Stone. Frank Salvoni was credited with the Auto Club/Grumpy’s goal.

     In Tuesday’s other contest on resort ice, Trevor Thomas tallied the game winner in overtime lifting third-place Lefty’s Bar & Grill past Morgan’s Fine Finishes 6-5.

     Lefty’s fell behind 5-2 in the second but rallied with three unanswered goals in the third to send the 5-5 game into the extra session. Other’s Lefty’s scorers were Ryan Enrico 2 goals, Bryan Winkler 2 and Chad Levitan 1. For Morgan’s, Dave Hennessy and Steve Morcone each scored two goals, and Tyler Hanson one.

     Current standings are: 1—Yoga College of India (5-2-0, 10 points).              2—Morgan’s Fine Finishes (4-2-1 for 9 points). 3—Lefty’s Bar & Grill (3-2-2 for 8 points). 4—Sun Valley Auto Club/Grumpy’s (0-6-1, 1 point).
