Express paints incorrect picture

I am writing to set the record straight on an unfortunate situation that has occurred at Chateau Drug. The story published in the Jan. 11 edition does not paint the correct picture of this situation, as it omitted to mention most important facts.

Although I am the owner of Chateau Drug, I am not a licensed pharmacist so we subcontract out the pharmacy operations, which include fulfilling all legal requirements.

The subcontractor we had hired incurred this costly situation, not Chateau Drug. We are no longer contracted with them and have hired our own pharmacists since.

In the meantime, it is business as usual at our pharmacy and store. We are now reorganized and currently operating with improved efficiencies and energy.

Jackie Mizer, a long-time valley resident, is the pharmacist in charge.

We are thankful to the community for their understanding and continuous support. As always, we will continue to emphasize excellent customer service.

On a separate note, I am disappointed that the Mountain Express keeps on referring to me as "a California businessman."

I have been living in this valley for five years. I own a house here. I own and operate multiple local businesses, where I bust my back seven days a week.

I provide employment to a large number of local men and women. I advertise in the local newspaper, namely the Mountain Express.

I donate to and participate in local charities. I participate and contribute to local events like Trailing of the Sheep and others.

I eat and drink with my local friends at the local restaurants. I celebrate Thanksgiving and holidays with them. I mourn the loss of my local friends like Bud Bradshaw and Bill Slater with their families and friends here.

So my question to you is that at what point do I stop being "a California businessman" and become a local?

KEN SANGHA

Ketchum

Editor's note: The term "California businessman" was taken from a 2007 story about the sale of Chateau Drug to Ken Sangha. It should not have been used in the recent story. The Idaho Mountain Express apologizes for the description.
