Mountain Rides begins winter schedule

Board to discuss ‘acquisition of real estate’ in closed session

Express Staff Writer

With tourist season picking up in the Wood River Valley, Mountain Rides Transportation Authority has started its winter operations schedule.

Starting Saturday, Dec. 17, Mountain Rides now has all six of its routes operational in the Ketchum-Sun Valley area with connections to Warm Springs and River Run ski lifts.

Skiers, tourists, shoppers and commuters can now catch the Blue, Red, Green, Gold, Silver or Bronze routes to practically any desired destination in the Ketchum-Sun Valley area. The service is priced right too: It's free.

Complete bus route schedules are published on the Mountain Rides website at, and quick reference schedules are available in the Idaho Mountain Express.

New "blue-colored" brochures, with schedule and route information on Ketchum-Sun Valley service, free Hailey Circulator service and fare-required Valley bus service have been released and are available on buses, at bus stops and at many local businesses.

In other Mountain Rides news, the board of directors will hold its December meeting beginning at noon today at Ketchum City Hall council chambers.

An executive session, closed to the public, is scheduled to begin once the regular meeting is concluded. According to the agenda, the reason for the closed meeting is to "discuss acquisition of real estate."
