District seeks input on communications plan

Proposed plan up for approval at next school board meeting

The Blaine County School District is seeking public comment on a proposed new communications plan.

The plan, which states how the district will communicate with employees, the public and the news media, is available at the district website, www.blaineschools.org. A link to the plan can be found in the Dec. 6 issue of the district publication "BCSD Weekly Update."

The proposed plan is listed as an agenda item, with an "action required" notation, for the next board of trustees meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 13. The meeting is set to begin at 6 p.m. at the district office, 118 W. Bullion St. in Hailey.

Also listed on the agenda are a report on the Bellevue Elementary School preschool program, an update on Blaine County Education Foundation activities from Executive Director Mike Burchmore, and a curriculum report from district Director of Curriculum Patricia McLean.

School Board Chair Steve Guthrie is scheduled to discuss the board's closed-executive-session procedure.

Trustee Kathryn Graves is scheduled to discuss the Gifted and Talented Education program and other accelerated learning opportunities and District Business Manager Mike Chatterton will ask for board approval of a district investment policy.

A complete copy of the agenda is available at the district website.
