Susan Stephenson Luttrell

Susan Stephenson Luttrell, 54, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at her home in Hailey. Susan was born Sept. 18, 1957, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Frank and Fern Stephenson. At an early age, her family moved to Idaho, living on Base Line Road where she and her sister grew up helping on the farm, riding horses, snow machines and motorcycles, and being involved in 4H.

Her first born was her son, Ben Stephenson, then her daughter, Marisa. She moved to Boise and lived there for eight years, then moved back to Hailey where her heart was.

Susan was a chef at the Boulder Mountain Hotel and also worked in the restaurant business at other places. Her favorite things were cooking, going to the local thrift stores and art.

Susan was the best mom she could be, always thinking of others. She loved to make people laugh. If you knew her, she gave you all she had. She loved her dog Sadie, who was always by her side, a true companion to her. She truly loved her family, we will all love and miss her very much. She was always a fun-loving sister to Karen.

Surviving members of Susan's family include her mother, Fern Stephenson of Hailey; her son, Ben Stephenson of Hailey; daughter, Marisa Hall Stephenson (Joel) and LaCoby Zamora, Tholia Zamora and Faustino Nunez, all of Hailey; sister, Karen Morrison; niece, Amy Smith (Randy) and Seth and Izsabella of North Platte, Neb.; and niece, Amber Morrison (Scott Peleggi) and Tre Higgins and Nathan Peleggi of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Frank Stephenson, and great-nephew Nanny Peleggi.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 8, at Wood River Chapel in Hailey, with burial in the Hailey Cemetery. Everyone is invited to a reception at the Blaine County Senior Center following the services.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Susan Stephenson Luttrell Memorial Fund at the D.L. Evans Bank in Hailey. Friends are invited to share a memories, condolences and photos and light a candle at www.woodriverchapel.com.
