Runners will enjoy Turkey Trot 5k

Holiday run in Hailey Thursday

You're invited to spend Thanksgiving morning getting exercise before the big meal.

Blaine County Title is presenting the eighth annual Hailey Turkey Trot 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) run/walk starting at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 24 outside the College of Southern Idaho offices at The Community Campus, Hailey.

The popular event attracted over 300 participants last year. It is held rain, snow or shine.

Registration is $15 per individual, $40 for a family up to four persons plus $10 for any additional members. Race-day registration is double the cost ($30, $70 and $20) so organizers expect many to pre-register and save some money.

You can find details and register at haileyturkeytrot.com. Pick up bib bags today, Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Blaine County Title office in the E.G. Willis Building above Shorty's in Hailey.

Register online through today at imathlete.com. All proceeds support the "Souper Supper" organization that provides a hot meal to those who need one, and the Wood River Chapter of Girls on the Run. Donations of non-perishable items to help restock the pantry at the Souper Supper will also be collected at the race start.

Last year's top runners were course record holder Ben Stout (17:27), Scott Tucker and Jeff Roth. Top females were Heather Miller, Jennifer Schwartz and Kelly Eggers.
