Crosstoberfest spins through Sagewillow

Saturday and Sunday

Cyclocross bike racing on a new course at Elkhorn's Sagewillow Barn is back for the Halloween weekend of Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 29-30.

Held in past years in the River Run Lodge area, this year's seventh annual Crosstoberfest will be staged at Sagewillow, Elkhorn at Sun Valley.

Sponsors include Powerhouse Pub and Bike Fit Studio of Hailey, Visit Sun Valley, Community School and Scott.

Organizers said on the Powerhouse website, "We're expecting great weather for this year's Crosstoberfest. It's in a new location and there is a rad new course through the barn. Powerhouse food will be served with beers from Ayinger, Boulevard, Chimay and Lagunitas. The cost to race this year is $20. It's bigger, better, and cheaper!"

This weekend's race categories are Men's and Women's Category 1 and 2 together, 3 and 4; Men's Masters 35-plus and 45-plus; Juniors; and First Timers. The cost is $15 for the Juniors and First Timers classes.

The race times (race together, scored separately) are: 11 a.m. for the Men's Cat. 4 and 45-plus First Flight (40 minutes); and noon for the Women's flights (40 minutes);

Also, 12:50 p.m. for Shimano Youth 6-and-under (1 lap, special course); 1 p.m. for Shimano 9-and-under (5 laps, special course); 1:10 p.m. for Shimano 12-and-under (1 lap on the adult course); 1:30 p.m. for Men's Cat. 1 and 2, 3 and 35-plus (60 minutes); and 2:40 p.m. for Juniors and First Timers.
