Edward Dale ‘Pete’ Thompson


Edward Dale "Pete" Thompson passed away peacefully on Oct. 15, 2011, in Hailey, Idaho.

Pete was born April 16, 1953, in San Diego, Calif. He grew up in Flagstaff, Ariz., where he attended high school at Coconino High. Pete enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 in May 1970. He served three years as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborn Division. He was honorably discharged after his service in the military. Pete settled in Flagstaff where he worked for Warner Cable for a number of years. He eventually made his home in Hailey, Idaho, where he went to work for Cox Communication as a construction supervisor.

Pete was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and riding his Harley. Pete was an active supporter of Harley Charity events.

Pete is survived by his sons, Charles Thompson of Boise, Idaho, and Jesse Thompson (Misty) and grandsons Tyler and Trent of Boise; Mary Jane Milbye of Tucson, Ariz.; Rebecca Faye Thompson; partner Pam Perryman of Hailey; sisters, Jimmie Coman of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Babbie Wilkes of Flagstaff, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Norma Thompson of Flagstaff, Ariz.

Pete Lived his life to the fullest and he will be missed by his family and many friends.

Pete's final resting place will be at Little Round Mountain with his beloved dog, Maggie. Services are scheduled for noon Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Wood River Chapel in Hailey.
