The city of Bellevue will host a public meeting about airport issues on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the Bellevue Elementary School.

"We will try to get as much information for the public as possible," said Mayor Chris Koch, who will moderate the event. "Everybody's voice will be heard."

Koch said he spoke with an unnamed county commissioner this week about Bellevue concerns. Th commissioners and members of the Friedman Memorial Airport Authority will be present. Koch said members of the Hailey City Council have also been invited to participate.

There will be a PowerPoint presentation explaining all of the options, a brief history of the issue, and terminology such as "inside" and "outside of the fence." City Planner Craig Eckles invited residents to send him questions that he can present to the commissioners ahead of the meeting.

"I would not deny anyone the opportunity to speak whether they're saying the same thing over again or not," Koch said. "Whatever comes out of it will come out of it."

County leaders are looking at various ways to preserve commercial air service long term, possibly by expanding or relocating Friedman Memorial.
