Small school runners test Gooding track

Tuesday cross country meet

     CommunitySchool and CamasCounty prep runners joined a field of 172 Tuesday at the Gooding Invitational cross country meet at Gooding Golf Course—site of the state-qualifying 4th District 2A and 1A meet Wednesday, Oct. 19.

     Seniors Gray Riedinger (12th of 105 boys in 18:54) and Morgan Atkinson (6th of 67 girls in 22:20) led the Cutthroats at Gooding, where the top 3.1-mile runners were senior Trevor Anderson of Declo (17:21) and sophomore Rachel Youren of Gooding (20:10).

     Next Wednesday’s girls’ race at Gooding begins at 2 p.m. and the boys’ 5-kilometer race at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday’s top results:

     Varsity boys: 1—Trevor Anderson (Declo) 17:21. 2—Wesley  Kelly (Kimberly) 17:24. 3—Eliseo Garcia (Gooding) 17:30. 6—Jacob Dalton(Dietrich) 18:01. 12—Gray Riedinger (CS) 18:54, 4th among district runners. 32—Nate Nasvik (CS) 20:07. 34—Andrew Simon (CC) 20:09. 35—Davey Knowlton (CC) 20:13. 36—Cody Lane (CC) 20:15. 52—Gunnar Ohlson (CS) 21:15. 65—Connor Smith (CS) 22:28 (season best)—105 runners.

     Varsity girls: 1—Rachel Youren (Gooding) 20:10. 2—Sasha Kent (Richfield) 20:32. 3—Ellie Dalton(Dietrich) 20:55. 6—Morgan Atkinson (CS) 22:20, 4th among district runners—67 runners.
