I am so saddened to learn of Pat's passing. He holds a very special place in my heart for we were co-workers at the Arizona Republic from 1988-1989. Pat and his wife, Betty, attended our wedding at the Bel Air Hotel in Los Angeles. I was so touched that they flew from Arizona to California to celebrate with us.
Back in the late 1980s, Pat had a computer but didn't quite know how to operate it. I would go over to his house and give him mini lessons. A very sweet, intelligent and caring man he was to me. Pat also threatened to write a book about me and my superb lip-reading talent. He was going to write the murder mystery with myself as the assistant to the investigator and read lips of important dignitaries as the story would unfold. How I wished I would have known he was not well.
Please convey to his family my heartfelt condolences.
