Conti hits a jackpot in Pro-Pro golf

36-hole tourney winner

Sun Valley Golf Course PGA head professional Dominick Conti picked a great time to get blistering hot on the par 72, 6,934-yard layout at Jackpot Golf Club in Nevada.

Conti carded two rounds in the low 60s and shared first place in the 2011 Snake River Chapter PGA Pro-Pro 36-hole tournament that brought out 34 Idaho and Nevada golf pros on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 3-4.

Shooting scores of 61-64 for 19-under-par 125, Conti finished in a first-place tie with Jerome County Club PGA assistant golf pro Marc Vedder of Twin Falls (59-66 for 125). Conti and Vedder each earned $1,175 for their winning efforts.

Tying for 16th place was Tommy Sanderson of Sun Valley, 63-70 for 11-under-par 133. Valley Club Director of Golf Stoney Brown of Bellevue carded scores of 68-67 for 9-under-par 135, good for a 24th-place tie.
