Erik Laughlin


Erik was born on Aug. 3, 1962, in Denver, Colo., to Stanley and Sharon Laughlin and died of natural causes in Ketchum, Idaho, on Sept. 4, 2011.

He graduated from Pocatello High School in Pocatello, Idaho, in 1980 and attended the University of Idaho and Idaho State University where he studied engineering and business. Erik worked at the CottonTree Inn and FedEx in Pocatello and was employed at the Kentwood Lodge in Ketchum, Idaho, at the time of his death.

Erik enjoyed golfing, skiing and camping and hiking along Baker Creek and Redfish Lake. He is best remembered by his family for his participation in the "capital lawn croquet championships."

He was preceded in death by his father, James Stanley Laughlin in 1998. He is survived by his mother, Sharon Laughlin of Westminster, Colo.; sister, Inga Laughlin Henderson, brother-in-law, Mark Henderson and two nieces, Krista and Megan Henderson, of Westminster, Colo. Erik had a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Erik's family held a celebration of his life on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Casino Club in Ketchum, Idaho.
