Seniors Get Into The Groove

The Boise-based Trey McIntyre Project dance troupe brought light and joy in movement Thursday afternoon to the residents of the Blaine Manor nursing facility in Hailey. Dancers did a short performance before asking the residents to join them in a simple dance, moving their feet or waving their arms as directed. “It was great,” said Kathleen Eder, executive director of the Croy Canyon Ranch Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing senior living facilities. “Those who were able to move really got into it. The smiles and the light in their eyes—it was really moving.” Eder said the dancers hope to return next year. The Trey McIntyre Project received a National Endowments of the Arts grant to bring their group to nursing homes and hospitals around the country. Express photo by David N. Seelig
