Labor Day tennis returns to Sun Valley

Lyle Pearson meet Sept. 3-5

Online registration is being accepted for the Lyle Pearson Labor Day Tennis Championships scheduled for Sun Valley Tennis Club Saturday through Monday, Sept. 3-5.

Presented by Sun Valley Resort and co-sponsored by Lyle Pearson of Boise and Atkinsons' Markets, the three-day tournament is sanctioned by the U.S. Tennis Association Intermountain Idaho section/district.

Tournament director David Perry said, "There should be some good tennis. Players from Boise State University, the University of Idaho, Idaho State University and Seattle University will all be playing."

All Open divisions for men, women and mixed are sanctioned, while all other divisions (3.5 to 5.0, 7.0 to 9.0 combined) are non-sanctioned and open to non-USTA members. Juniors may play in the appropriate NTRP divisions. All players are guaranteed two matches.

Entries close Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time. The first event is $40 per player, and second and third events $30.

The Player's Party is Sunday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. There will be a great raffle, and all participants will be offered complimentary tickets to the Sept. 3 Sun Valley Ice Show.
