Raising public awareness to its goal of helping six athletes qualify for the 2014 Winter Olympics at Sochi, Russia, the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation will hold another "6 at Sochi" Celebration Thursday, Aug. 18 from 5-9 p.m. at Ketchum Town Square.
Free to all, the event is oriented to families, locals and resort guests. Many of the SVSEF Olympic Development Team athletes will greet the public. SVSEF representatives will attend to answer questions about the ODT program.
Plans call for music by three bands, food vendors, a dunk tank and merchandise for sale. Event organizers are raffling off a mountain bike and Baldy ski pass. One raffle ticket costs $10, or you get five for $20.
Music performances include local favorite Cow Says Moo at 5 p.m., Moe Dixon at 6 p.m. and California reggae band Safety Orange capping it at 7:30 p.m. Local celebrities and SVSEF coaches have reluctantly agreed to get dunk tanked.
