Police tactic was a bit heavy

A few days ago at 8 a.m., there was a loud knocking at our door. Wondering who could be calling at this early hour, while still in my shorts, I rushed to answer the door. To my amazement and shock I discovered a uniformed Hailey policeman (I live in Ketchum) standing there! He very politely asked me if I had failed to attend a required drivers' class in April. I assured him that I had attended, along with 90 other hapless souls.

Wouldn't a phone call have been sufficient; or did the Hailey Police really think that I would have taken it on the lam? What would have happened if I really had not been in attendance? Perhaps off to jail in my shorts.
