The Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood has announced the hiring of Kimberly Broderick Piggins as the new director of the Big Wood School located at the Ketchum church.

Piggins is planning to meet with current and prospective Big Wood parents and students at a "meet-and-greet" event Thursday, Aug. 4, from 4-6 p.m. at Ketchum's Atkinson Park.

According to a press release from the church, Piggins began her work experience with children as a preschool office assistant. During college she worked in the preschool setting. She advanced through the system as a teacher and director's assistant. She then served as director of a prominent preschool in San Diego, Calif.

Piggins and her two daughters moved to the Wood River Valley in 2009. The family has been active in the Church of the Big Wood. The church stated that her strong leadership skills and passion about working with children made her an ideal fit for the position of director of Big Wood School.

The Big Wood School offers preschool and Christian education for children ages 18 months to 5 years. Call the school 726-9053 with questions.
