The Back Alley Party at The Wicked Spud in Hailey will feature a live performance of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at 6 p.m.

Pink Floyd fans should make a plan to hear a complete free performance of "Wish You Were Here" on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at 6 p.m. at the Back Alley Party at The Wicked Spud in Hailey.

Last year, the Back Alley Party had a performance of Pink Floyd's album "Dark Side of the Moon," which was a huge success.

The same band with a few different members will return this summer to the Back Alley Party to perform the Pink Floyd album "Wish You Were Here" in its entirety. Johnny Valenzuela, Richard Harrah, Brian Carney, Steph Sloan, Sean Jackson, Jeff Tovey, Mia Jefferson, Chloe Barrymore, Brad Hershey and Mike Ward with Cory Ballentine designing sound have been rehearsing through the summer. The event will benefit Camp Rainbow Gold.

"One of the motivating forces to do this again is because it went so well last year," Valenzuela said. "We had such a great band and everyone got along so well they wanted to do it again."

Valenzuela said the band set the bar very high and this performance will be challenging.

"Rich Harrah and I decided to do another Pink Floyd album," he said. "It's not as universally known as "Dark Side of the Moon" but people who know it often say it's their favorite Pink Floyd album."

The band features new members from last year, which include bass player Brad Hershey and guitarist Jeff Tovey. In addition, the band will feature Wood River High School graduate Mike Ward on saxophone and backing vocalist Chloe Barrymore, who is 16.

"The age span of the band is almost three generations," Valenzuela said. "It's a lot of fun and everyone seems to dig it. It proves what I have always felt about Pink Floyd's music—that it will be around for awhile."

Valenzuela said there will be a few surprises in the performance. The band is performing a version similar to Pink Floyd's live version.

"I totally love it," he said. "I love the fact that there are a bunch of old guys and bunch of young people in the band. It's great to bridge generations with music."
