Bike festival was big hit

On Sunday I spoke with one of the racers here for the mountain bike festival competition. He was from Austin, Texas, and had two younger racers with him. I asked him if he enjoyed himself, and boy did he tell me how much. He said they had just come from two races in Colorado and they didn't have a very good time there at all. They were charged for camping and here they not only got to camp for free but could cook and take showers as well.

He said the people here are great, very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to make them welcome. He usually cooks at their campsite but said they just couldn't get enough of our restaurants and planned to stay an extra three days. He now loves this place and will come back.

Oh yes, one more thing. He did say the course was not the greatest but said he felt it was the best we could provide with the up and down of the terrain. He said there will be a lot of positive Twitter from the racers.

Hooray and well done to all who made this a great weekend for so many.
