KECH 18, Elevate 15

     KECH built a comfortable 11-5 lead in the fifth, but Elevate stormed back with an 8-run, 9-hit home fifth for a 13-11 lead. In the sixth, the bottom half of the KECH batting order delivered with 6 hits and 5 runs, then the winners tacked on 3 runs in the seventh. KECH (29 hits): Jeff Heinecke 5 hits (triple) and 4 runs, Lenny Joseph 4 hits (triple, double), Shannon Flavin 3 hits (2 doubles) and 3 runs, Kirsten Flavin 4 hits, Jamie Rivetts 4 hits and 2 runs, Scotty Carlson 4 hits (3 doubles) and 3 RBI. Elevate: Cooper Minnis 4 hits (3 HR), 4 runs and 8 RBI, Kellee Havens 4 hits and 4 runs, Carrie Philbrick 4 hits, Kayt Vanderberger 4 hits (double) and 2 RBI.

 

Firefighters 19, Idaho Bioscience 4 (5 innings)

     Firefighters made a splash with an 8-run, 6-hit first and added 5-run uprisings in the third and fifth. Firefighters: Matt Christian 4 hits (double, triple) and 2 runs, Rune Haavik 3 hits (double) and 2 runs, Melinda Milner 2 hits (triple) and 2 runs, Becky Simpson and Justin Herald 2 hits and 2 runs apiece. IdahoBioscience: Andrew Pfeiffer 2 hits (double), Sarah Worley 2 hits.

Elevate 24, Idaho Bioscience 5 (5 innings)

     Elevate (27 hits): Leadoff hitter Matt Siegel 4 hits (3 doubles, HR), 4 runs and 7 RBI, Kellee Havens 3 hits and 3 runs, Cooper Minnis 3 hits (3 HR), 4 runs and 7 RBI, Travis Thelen 4 hits (double). Bioscience: Ashley Madrid 3 hits, Levi Perryman 3 hits (double) and 2 RBI.

Casino/Whiskey Jacques 14, Lefty’s Bar & Grill 13 (8 innings)

     The game of the night Wednesday was a battle between the league’s top teams that went all the way to extra frames. Trying to knock Casino out of the unbeaten ranks, Lefty’s (22 hits) jumped out to a 9-3 lead after two stanzas—using a 4-run, 7-hit first and 5-run, 6-hit second. Casino steadily chipped away, scoring 11 runs on 17 hits in its final six at-bats. Casino put together a 3-run seventh to creep ahead 13-12 after Bryan O’Connell (3 hits, 3 runs) opened with a single, Tom Moreland (3 hits, 2 doubles, 4 runs) delivered a one-out double and Nic Nottingham (4 hits, triple, HR, 2 runs) belted a two-out, 2-run HR. Down a run, Lefty’s orchestrated a two-out rally in the home seventh for a 13-13 deadlock on an RBI double by Anthony Anderson (4 hits, 3 doubles, 3 runs). In the eighth, Craig Morse of Casino (2 hits) led off with a triple and scored the eventual winning run. Lefty’s went quietly 1-2-3 in the home eighth. Casino: Matt Zachary 3 hits (triple, double). Lefty’s: Buffalo Rixon 3 hits (double) and 2 runs, Wendy Speth 3 hits (double) and 2 runs, Jeff Burrell 3 hits (double, HR) and 2 runs, Nicole Buckwalter and Kyle Rushton 3 hits each.
