A 58-year-old Twin Falls man was treated and released at St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center after being injured Tuesday in a motorcycle crash on state Highway 75 about a mile north of Galena Summit.

The Blaine County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Richard Calvert. Lt. Jay Davis said Calvert was northbound on a black and silver 2003 Harley Davidson when he lost control of the bike on a curve and crashed into a guardrail.

According to the accident report, Calvert suffered "possible facial lacerations and an elbow injury." He was transported to the hospital by Ketchum Fire Department ambulance.

Davis said authorities were notified of the accident at 10:46 a.m.

The accident was the second motorcycle crash near Galena Summit within the past few days.

Dennis Kavanagh, a 59-year-old Ketchum man, was injured Saturday when he dumped his bike on Highway 75 about two miles north of the summit. He was listed in good condition Thursday at St. Luke's.
