A 59-year-old Ketchum man was listed in good condition Tuesday at St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center after being injured in a motorcycle accident early Saturday evening near Galena Summit.

According to a Blaine County Sheriff's Office accident report, Dennis Kavanagh sustained a "possible fractured ankle and broken ribs."

Sheriff's Lt. Jay Davis said Monday that the accident occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. Saturday on state Highway 75 about two miles north of Galena Summit. He said Kavanagh was southbound on a blue and white 2000 BMW motorcycle when he encountered strong winds.

"The wind was blowing really hard and he leaned over to compensate, overcompensated and then he went off the curve," Davis said. "He was on the gravel at that point and dumped the bike."

Kavanagh was transported to St. Luke's by Ketchum Fire Department ambulance.
