Boulder Mountain Clayworks will hold a fundraiser, Tuscany on Tenth, at the Clayworks Studio, 480 Tenth St. in the Tenth Street Industrial Park just below the Knob Hill Inn in Ketchum. The festivities on Thursday, July 14, will begin at 5 p.m.

"Trying to make our studio location into an Italian wine garden is a challenge, but we're up for it," said Mary Ann Chubb, a Boulder Mountain Clayworks board member and event chair. "The whole event promises to be a lot of fun."

Webb Landscaping will provide the garden expertise and the plants, and Sue Ellen Bridgeman will donate a flower arrangement for auction.

Eminent wine enthusiast Lud Renick will select the Italian wines for tasting, which will be poured in complimentary wine cups made by Clayworks potters. Light but tasty Italian fare will be created by Mary Jones of the Chocolate Moose.

Michael Conger will demonstrate Raku firing and guests are invited to glaze and help fire their own pots. In addition, the evening will include a Build and Bid event. Studio Potters Susan Ward, Lauren Street and Michael Conger will throw pots on the wheel and guests will be encouraged to bid on them. Studio potters made platters for the silent auction and the fundraiser will include opportunities to bid on other clay donations.

A raffle prize, "Breakfast in the Sawtooths," is a donation by Jane Belew and John DeThomas, administrator of the Idaho Transportation Department's Division of Aeronautics. The couple has offered to fly two people in their Bonanza to the Sulfur Creek Ranch for breakfast early one summer morning.

Boulder Mountain Clayworks is a nonprofit clay-art corporation. It provides after-school enrichment programs for children and teenagers. Classes for adults and families are also offered year-round. During the summer, Clayworks has summer camps for kids, throwing camps for teenagers, guest artist workshops for adults and opportunities for families to bond over the making of popcorn bowls.

Tickets for Tuscany on Tenth are $50 and are available at Chapter One Bookstore or at the Clayworks Studio. For details, call 726-4484.
