Nagasu To Grace Sun Valley Ice



Ranked No. 11 in the world, 18-year-old Mirai Nagasu from Montebello, Calif., is the headliner for the first of 10 Sun Valley Ice Show performances on Saturday, July 2. Nagasu, above, became the first American woman in 70 years to win the U.S. junior and senior titles in successive years when she captured the national title in 2008. Known as a great spinner, she placed fourth in the 2010 Olympics at Vancouver. Joining Nagasu as headliner of the holiday ice show starting Saturday at dusk is 12-year-old Nathan Chen from Utah, who is entering the seventh grade. Chen is the two-time U.S. Novice Men’s champion. Fireworks will conclude Saturday’s 70-minute ice show that will also celebrate Sun Valley’s 75th anniversary. Non-refundable tickets are on sale at the Sun Valley Recreation Office: 622-2135.
