The Sun Valley Osher Institute Symposium will take place Saturday, June 18, from 10:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Sun Valley Lodge. The symposium will be the institute’s Sun Valley debut. Event organizer Ellie McKinnon said she hopes the symposium will become a Sun Valley tradition.
The institute, which is at BoiseStateUniversity, offers continuing education for adults.
The event is sponsored by The Community Library, the Sun ValleyCenter for the Arts and KBSU Radio. The symposium is a full day of learning about old and new concepts with invigorating discussion. Classes will include banking news, Alzheimer’s research, media, and foreign policy awareness and understanding. The symposium costs $75, with an additional $10 fee for nonmembers. The day-long event will include lunch.
Scholarships will be available to those who need financial assistance. The scholarship will waive the $10 affiliate membership and cover half the cost of the symposium, making the cost for scholarship participants $37.50, including lunch.
In addition, a reception for presenters and interested attendees, costing $20, will take place on Friday, June 17, at 7 p.m. at the Sun Valley Golf Club.
