Tax credits promote overpopulation

Another thing that bugs me about governments are the child tax credits.

Do they not realize or care about overpopulation? The least that they can do is not encourage it. Overpopulation is one of the greatest threats to our planet. In some countries, it contributes to disease and short life spans. Obviously, it accelerates the depletion of our natural resources. How about the mounting garbage and waste, plastic in our waterways, etc.?

However, our federal government encourages overpopulation by giving a $1,000 tax credit per child. I believe it should eliminate the tax credit or at least limit it to one or, at the most, two children. Let's not resort to sterilization by the government when it appears too late to stem the flood.
