While Gregg Braden's keynote address at the Sun Valley Wellness Festival was billed as a "choice between fear and love," he chose to focus the first hour of his presentation on "a world in crisis," politically, economically and ecologically. He then presented his theory that we are in the critical final stage of a 5,000-year period, dating back to the "beginning of civilization 200,000 years ago" requiring an urgent response on the part of his audience. The following hour was devoted to debunking the theory of evolution and man's contribution to global warming. He eventually got around to man's ability to change the world with positive thinking and "heart-based energy" but the end hardly justified the means.
I consider myself open-minded but this was like listening to a New Age Glenn Beck with all his extrapolations. The "scientific" data presented to support his theories appeared to be from his own associations with "Heart Math" and the "Global Coherence Initiative" and could be substantiated "if you were to buy his many books" conveniently on sale. A quick perusal online offers numerous debunking of his theories by the scientific community.
I am disappointed that this is the best the Sun Valley Wellness Institute could come up with and that there wasn't more of a vetting process.
