Time for senior projects at TCS

21 seniors to give oral presentations


Twenty-one Community School seniors will give oral presentations of their senior projects the week of May 16-20 at the private Sun Valley school.

Subjects of the talks include marine biology, the world of coffee, boat-building, the music scene in the Big Apple, trips abroad and memories of a special father.

A schedule follows. The public is invited to the presentations in the school theater:

- Monday, May 16: 3:45 p.m., Kelly Hennessy on studying the universality of music in New York; 4:10 p.m., Chris Preucil and Tony Martin on "Mistakes and Mishaps in the Maze"; and 4:35 p.m., Bryce Ervin on "Exploring Coffee in Hailey and Puerto Rico."

-Tuesday, May 17: 1:50 p.m., Tate Boley on painting in Paris and Provence; 2:10 p.m., Zana Davey on hunger in America; 2:35 p.m., Julia Doan on family history in Vietnam; 3 p.m., Zoey Olbum on The Mountain School and Sage School finding their identities; and 3:25 p.m., John Chrysikopoulos on "Life on the Airwaves."

At 3:45 p.m., Davey will air a radio show she has produced on "Hunger in America."

- Wednesday, May 18: 1:50 p.m., Emily Williams on marine biology; 2:10 p.m., Natalie Vorsteveld on paragliding in Australia; 2:35 p.m., Bria Gillespie on contrasts between urban Seattle and rural Kauai; 3:10 p.m. (at Ciro restaurant in Ketchum), Daniela Stokes on "A Taste of Torino."

- Thursday, May 19: 1:50 p.m., Dylan Prescott on building a boat, a father and son endeavor; 2:10 p.m., Chelsea Cloud on a 12-step recovery program; 2:35 p.m., Max Christman on coaching track in Washington; 3 p.m., Annie Pokorny on the achievement gap in academics.

- Friday, May 20: 1:50 p.m., Eric Griffith on industrial tourism in Belize; 2:10 p.m., Carson Caraluzzi on teaching English in Mexico; 2:35 p.m., Colby Benz on "Life with My Dad"; 3 p.m., Kyla Jarrett on going behind the scenes of a big-time movie blockbuster.
