As winter fades away into spring, taking care of mind and body wellness can create a positive experience for the coming of spring and summer. The 2011 Sun Valley Wellness Festival will present a four-day experience with speakers, presentations, workshops, a hands-on hall and a music event to cover wellness from inside and outside the body. It will run from May 26-30 at Sun Valley Resort.
Keynote speaker Gregg Braden will give a presentation, "Deep Truth: Igniting the Memory of Our Origin, History, Destiny and Fate," on Friday, May 27, from 7:30-9 p.m. in the Sun Valley Inn Limelight Room. Braden is a best-selling author and visionary scientist who explores deep truths at the root of humankind's greatest threats. Braden is known internationally for bridging the ideas of science and spirituality.
The festival will also include a cosmic salon with Alex and Allyson Grey, a community art and dance party with DJ dance music, live painting by Alex Grey and many additional entertaining, spiritually enhancing elements. The salon will take place on Saturday, May 28, from 8 p.m. to midnight in the Sun Valley Inn Continental Room.
In addition, presenters from across the nation, including several from the Wood River Valley, will discuss wellness topics ranging from individual care to caring for the planet. The schedule of events will list categories for presentations and workshops for body, mind, spirit and movement. This year, the category of "next generation" offers wellness for families, including workshops with children.
The festival will offer opportunities to experience healing processes and to shop for wellness items at the Sun Valley Wellness Hands on Hall and Exhibit Hall. It will be in the Sun Valley Inn Saturday, May 28, and Sunday, May 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Monday, May 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The hall is open to the public at no charge.
