The Blaine County School District and its teachers union concluded contract negotiations Tuesday, but terms of the agreement were not publicly available by press deadline.

Negotiations started last week and lasted four days.

In a joint communiqué issued Tuesday afternoon, the district and the Blaine County Education Association announced that a tentative master agreement for the 2011-12 school year had been reached, but that the agreement is subject to ratification by the school board and the union.

The district and the union jointly stated that current law requires the Education Association to vote in public regarding ratification.

An Education Association membership meeting, closed to the public, is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Monday, May 9, at the Community Campus in Hailey. According to the announcement, the closed meeting will be immediately followed by a public meeting in which the vote will be taken and votes will be counted.

The joint communiqué did not state when the school board will consider the tentative agreement. The board's next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 10.
