A new reporter is covering the northern Wood River Valley for the Idaho Mountain Express.

The Express has hired longtime Idaho resident Rebecca Meany to cover Ketchum, Sun Valley and Sun Valley Resort, plus the health and energy beats. Meany replaces reporter Trevon Milliard, who left the Express April 22 to fill a reporter position at the Las Vegas Review Journal, a daily newspaper that covers Las Vegas and the surrounding region.

Meany recently worked nearly four years in corporate communications at the Boise office of URS Corp., a provider of engineering, construction and technical services for public agencies and private-sector companies. She worked as a reporter covering the city of Ketchum, the Legislature, energy and general news at the Idaho Mountain Express from 2005-2007. Prior to that, she was the public safety reporter at the Times-News in Twin Falls.

Milliard started working at the Express in August 2009. He earned several awards for his reporting while at the Express, including the Rookie of the Year award from the Idaho Press Club last May, for outstanding work in journalism in 2009.
