Icebreaker golf strikes again

Last Saturday, 96 golfers dusted off their clubs and raised over $3,700 for Camp Rainbow Gold during the sixth annual Icebreaker Tournament at Jerome's 93 Golf Ranch.

A four-person scramble was followed by a raffle and lunch next door at the Elks Club.

Organizer Doug D'Andrea said, "This year's winners set a new scoring record with a 16-under-par 56. The team consisted of Dave Gittins, Dave Hausmann, Ryan Thomson and Dickie Nelson. That's a pretty good set of sticks right there!"

Women's winners were Franny Hjort, Janet Appleton, Judy Locke and Jill Rubin. Tops in coed play were Creighton and Kelly Ariel, and Ryan Enrico and Stephanie Rowley.

The tournament has raised nearly $24,000 for Camp Rainbow Gold in its six years, said D'Andrea. Located north of Ketchum and run by the American Cancer Society, Camp Rainbow Gold is for children who have been, or are being treated for cancer.
