Duane Robert Miller, a 2004 Wood River High School graduate, attended the U.S. Air Force Academy and graduated in 2008 after four challenging years of academics and Division 1 wrestling.

Miller was then offered, and accepted a pilot slot, which added two more years of studying and flight training. Despite the high rate of attrition, now 1st Lt. Miller completed this training at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Okla. He graduated on Dec. 17, 2010 and received his ratings and pilot wings.

A son of Don and Barb Miller, Duane has now started his 10-year mandatory service as an Air Force pilot.

Bronwen Raff of Hailey has made the fall 2010 dean's list at Tufts University in Medford, Mass.

Community School graduate Tyler Chandler of Ketchum is a senior at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont., and is a second-team Academic All-American alpine ski racer there. The RMC men's ski team recently won its third national collegiate title in the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) national championships, held at Sun Valley in March. Rocky Mountain's men also prevailed at nationals in 2005 and 2007.
