Don’t build more affordable housing

It is ridiculous to even think of building more "affordable" housing in Ketchum or Hailey. The projects that have been built cost way too much and are not fully occupied as it is. Cutters has vacant units, Buttercup Road is a joke and the units near the YMCA are not fully rented.

It is a fact that the prices do not compete with the current market. Those that would like to live in these units cannot afford them, and those that can afford it do not want to live in them.

Let's be smart with the money, and when all the existing inventory is gone, how about buying some existing condos, smaller units that may be in foreclosure (now there's a new thought), and everybody would win. New units cannot be built to be affordable.

That thing between your ears is a brain—let's use it.
