A motorcycle accident on Monday, April 4, at 7:32 p.m. sent Michael Shane Gilbert, 56, to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center after he failed to negotiate a turn on West Magic Road about two miles west of state Highway 75.

Blaine County Sheriff's Office Lt. Jay Davis said Gilbert was heading west on a 1993 Harley Davidson Sportster. Davis said Gilbert was transported to St. Luke's and that the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Davis said alcohol and cell phone use could be involved in a rollover accident that occurred Thursday, April 7, at about 10:40 p.m. on state Highway 75 just south of Timmerman Junction. He said Bryan Jeffrey Estes, 26, of Boise, was northbound in a 2002 Honda CRV when he lost control of his vehicle. Davis said Estes reported that he was reaching for his cell phone to make a call when the accident occurred.

Estes was transported to St. Luke's where he was treated for injuries. Davis said he was also cited for DUI, though the charge is pending results of a blood test.
