Warriors lacrosse ready for first game

Today in Boise


Looking to improve on last year's 2-10 record, the Wood River Warriors lacrosse team plays perennial powerhouses Eagle, Boise and Timberline of Boise in its first three games over the next week.

Wood River clashes with Eagle today, Wednesday at 6 p.m. for a game at Mountain Home's West Elementary School. The Warriors travel to Boise Saturday, April 9 for a 4:30 p.m. contest against Boise High, at East Junior High.

The Warriors are back at West Elementary School Wednesday, April 13 for a 6 p.m. contest against Timberline. Six games of the 12-game schedule are at Mountain Home, three games are at home on the soccer field south of Wood River High School, and three more in the Boise area.

First home game is Saturday, April 16 at 1:30 p.m. in Hailey against Borah of Boise. Other home games are Saturday, April 30 against Bishop Kelly, and Saturday, May 14 against Vallivue of Caldwell.

Returning from last year's squad are Gus Conrad, Parker Weekes, Brian Boyle, Cooper Rogers Drew Deffe, Kasey Barker, Riley Heneghan, JR Hill, Nathan Farrow and Jimmy Williams.

New players include Alec England, Tommy Bailey, Cody Levitan, Cooper Bailey, Kyle Clark, Quinn Guthrie, Max Jones, Fischer Lewis, Jake Miczulski, Sam Rogers, Sam Ruddell and goalie Tanner Dredge.

The season concludes Saturday, May 21 with a 1 p.m. game at Jackson Hole, Wyo.
