Snowbird stages IMD finals for J4s, J5s

Last weekend’s tech series in Utah


Snowbird (Utah) Sports Education Foundation hosted 121 boys and 89 girls Friday through Sunday, March 25-27 for the 2011 Intermountain Division Championships matching North and South racers.

There were 31 Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation J4 and J5 skiers from the C-Travel Team in the field of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association non-scored Kombi, giant slalom and slalom event.

Sun Valley podium performers were J4s Will Snyder (GS and SL class wins), Kyle Maxwell (3rd SL) and Duncan Fuller (3rd Kombi), along with J5s Jake Blackburn (Kombi and SL class wins), Molly Milgard (podiums in all 3 events) and Lily Fitzgerald (2nd SL).

SVSEF results starting with Friday's Kombi race and including GS and SL Saturday and Sunday:

J4 (ages 11-12) boys: Will Snyder 6-K/1-GS/1-SL; Kyle Maxwell 4-K/4-GS/3-SL; Duncan Fuller 3-K/DNF-GS/DSQ-SL; Wyatt Smith 12-K/13-GS/24-SL; Yuri McClure 17-K/5-GS/DNF-SL; John Blackburn 26-GS/DSQ-SL; Kristian DeWolfe 25-K/31-GS/25-SL; Tobias Verheijen 43-K/38-GS/42-SL; Matteo Jorgenson 46-K/44-GS/53-SL; River Vorse-Whittier 47-K/56-GS/36-SL; Cooper Dart 53-K/39-GS/DNF-SL; William Lind DNF-GS/35-SL; Noah Leininger 54-K/52-GS/DSQ-SL; Clay Cutler 59-K/58-GS/50-SL; and Cade Street 62-K/55-GS/27-SL.

J4 girls: Katelyn Rathfon 11-K/18-GS/20-SL; Pilar Pennell 16-K/28-GS/25-SL; Margot Griffith 21-K/22-GS/DSQ-SL; Royce Rheinschild 22-K/DNF-GS/DSQ-SL; Hallie MacPherson 24-K/30-GS/DSQ-SL; Poppy Vorse-Whittier 40-K/34-GS/DSQ-SL; Riley Revallier 41-K/43-GS/38-SL; and Sage Rheinschild 45-K/10-GS/15-SL.

J5 (ages 9-10) boys: Jake Blackburn 1-K/DNF-GS/1-SL; Wyatt Minor 10-K/13-GS/8-SL; Will Griffith 14-K/10-GS/11-SL; Bennett Snyder 23-K/23-GS/23-SL; and Buey Grossman 24-K/DNF-GS/DNS-SL.

J5 girls: Molly Milgard 2-K/2-GS/3-SL; Lily Fitzgerald 7-K/7-GS/2-SL; and Madison Ferris 8-K/11-GS/5-SL.
